Transitions Seminar

In Week 6 we will host our first ever Transition Seminar.  Join us to hear about the processes in place to assist students transition from year to year and what you can do at home to help too.  Tuesday 8th November at 7pm

Defence News - Are You Posting?

The time of year is coming that Posting orders are being finalised and plans for the new chapter are starting to take shape.  If you are in this phase, you will know how stressful it can be.  Luckily our Defence Mentor Ms Leza is here to help make things smooth between schools and for your students.  Please remember to let her know if you are moving on at the end of this year or if you need any assistance.  She can even help to connect you to your new school Defence Mentor and help students begin to form some connections before the big move.  Please feel free to reach out, Ms Leza is always happy to chat and is also available via email : ltriffitt@stbenedicts.catholic.edu.au . 

Seasons for Growth

Change and loss are issues that affect all of us at some stage in our lives. At St

Benedict’s Catholic School, we recognise that when changes occur in families through death, separation, divorce or related circumstances, young people may benefit from learning how to manage these changes effectively. We offer a very successful education program called Seasons for Growth and will continue in 2023. This program is facilitated in small groups and is based on research that highlights the importance of social support and the need to practise new skills to cope effectively with change and loss. The program focuses on issues such as self-esteem, managing feelings, problem-solving, decision-making, effective communication and support networks. The Seasons for Growth Group is co-facilitated by Guidance Counsellor, Barbara Salisbury and Pastoral Care Coordinator Rhylie Mathiesen.  If you would like to know more information or request an expression of interest for your child to be involved in 2023 please contact Rhylie Mathiesen (rmathiesen1@stbenedicts.catholic.edu.au)
