APRE News
Welcome to the end of Week 7! Today the Year Dragonflies led us on assembly and did a wonderful job! Their assembly was on the theme of ‘The Second Sunday of Lent’ - they looked at the Gospel when Jesus was transfigured before his disciples, and God asked them to listen to the words of Jesus. Year 4 prayed that we may listen to Jesus as he tells us how to care for one another, how to encourage and support one another and how to be accepting and welcoming to all.
During the PEACE Showcase, Dragonflies also reminded us all about Accountability, and how taking accountability of our actions in everything we do is really important.
INTERSCHOOL SWIMMING CARNIVAL
Congratulations to our Interschool Swimming Team, who on Monday WON the ‘D Schools Interschool Swimming Carnival’. This is a tremendous result, and we will move into ‘C Schools’ next year. As great as it is to hand our certificates to place getters, I was most impressed by the reports of Sportsmanship throughout the day!
SACRAMENTAL PROGRAM
Congratulations to the 19 students from St Benedict’s who this week received the Sacrament of Reconciliation. These celebrations were held over two nights, and I was fortunate enough to attend and witness the children undertake the next step in their spiritual journey - one of saying sorry, asking for forgiveness, and knowing that God will forgive us. I’m looking forward to the celebration of Confirmation and First Holy Communion for these children next term.
Project Compassion
Each week, Project Compassion has a video to show how they are supporting people and communities around the world. Please see the link below to see one of the many projects around the world and to see where your donations might be spent. This week's story takes us to Sydney, Australia and is about an Indigenous woman named Tereesa.

A reminder that each classroom has a donation box, where any funds, even small contributions, can be placed to do something for someone else.
