Acting Principal's Update
What a wonderful week for our St Benedict’s community to come together and celebrate. It was wonderful to see so many people come together for ANZAC Day and to witness so many make the final initiation with the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. Our values of Love and Community are definitely alive in these moments.
Construction Works
This week I attended the site meeting with Simon Bell Constructions. The buildings are progressing well and we are seeing the walls start to go up. We look forward to the trusses going up within the next 2 weeks - this is when we really start to see our new buildings take shape.
I also attended the Mendi Group site meeting. We are on track to have the final cut in from the car park to the temporary road completed by the end of this week. The initial seal of the new road should take place next week, with the final seal and road marking the week after.
At this stage, the new road is on track to open on Monday 15th May. More information will come out before this - stay tuned.
School Arrival Times
With the changes to the car parking spaces, we have seen parents start to drop their children off earlier and earlier. I understand that the traffic situation is difficult for families. Please be mindful that we have students safety in mind and continue to remind all parents and carers that students SHOULD NOT BE dropped off at school BEFORE 8am. THis is a safety risk and impacts on OSHC who are licensed to use the hall until 8am. We have seen up to 100 students in the hall unsupervised before 8am. This is simply not acceptable and we thank you for keeping to the appropriate times.
Here’s hoping you have a restful long weekend - our last for quite a while now.
Blessings,
Ros
