Principal's Report

Hi everyone,

We were very pleased today to have a visit from our Mendi team who brought some of their trucks to school for the students to see. They have also shown the students some photos of the progress they are making with the road works that we will include in the newsletter. It is pretty cool to see all this happening, not just for the students but for us adults too. Each of our students will receive a gift pack from Mendi to enjoy and acknowledge everyone's patience with the ongoing work.

While we are talking about construction, I would like to remind everyone about using the directions in the carpark appropriately. As you enter the school carpark you are able to make  choices about going left to access the drop/pick up area or those carparks on that side of the entrance or as you enter you can choose to go straight ahead to then turn right which would allow you to access carparks on the kindy side of our school. It is important to note that some parents with children will need to walk along this area to access the pedestrian crossing and as such drivers need to be aware of children and walkers at all times. Being aware of children at all times in our carpark, should not be something that slips our minds at any time. For a few seconds of rushing whether you are late for school or for work is not worth the catastrophic fallout if a child is injured. I cannot stress enough how important it is to be patient and respectful to each other. We all want to be part of a respectful caring community and we are responsible for our own actions.

Our Year 3’s have enjoyed a very interesting excursion to Jezzine Barracks this week and we are very proud of their behaviour during this experience. Our students are generally a pleasure to take on excursions and we love providing these opportunities for them.

Please note that attached to this week’s newsletter we have a couple of policies being reviewed by the School Board. Please take the time to read through them while they are in draft form and make any comments you feel need to be addressed before they are finalised.

Have a fabulous week.

Cheers

Penny
