Principal's Report
What an eventful week it has been this week with our Beginning of Year Liturgy, a show from Nexus Arts where the kids got to experience some Indian style music and Bollywood dancing and we had Ditto from Bravehearts visit our Prep to Year 3 students to talk about keeping our bodies safe. Thank you to all families who were able to come to our liturgy on Monday, it was wonderful having members of our School Board launch the school Values they had discerned over the last twelve months.
Over the next week, we will be topdressing both of our school ovals to improve the area for our students meaning they will be out of action for a couple of weeks. We will allow students to play on the open area between our admin building and the kindy building in the short term. Also getting started over the next week will be the development of our Early Years Precinct which will include a Billabong with fish, a yarning circle, a maze, a dry creek bed, stepping stones and small bridges creating different ways to cross it, along with a variety of other tunnels, tracks and sensory style gardens to engage our kids in play. We are even including a small putt putt golf section which will be lots of fun. The kids should be able to fully use this by next term and we look forward to their added input through their eProjects.
A number of our students have taken the first step in the Sacramental Program, participating in the Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation) this week. Best wishes to all these students and their families as they continue this special journey. Next week we celebrate the beginning of Lent with Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday. Lent is a very important time in our catholic calendar as it is a time for us to reflect and renew leading up to Easter.
Looking forward to a fabulous week ahead.
Cheers
Penny
