APRE Report
Week 3 is now finished, which brings to an end our ‘disrupted weeks’ to start the term. We didn’t have an assembly on Monday but we a certainly looking forward to our assembly this Monday in ‘the Hall’, led by Prep Koalas celebrating Mother’s Day. As always, ALL are welcome, but a particularly special invite to all mums and mother figures who might be able to attend.
ATHLETICS Carnival
Today saw only our second ever Athletics Carnival! Looking around, a good day was had by all. Dthulla took home the trophy this year, but it was great to see a lot of sportsmanship and cheering throughout the day. As always, these events just don’t happen, so a big thank you must be extended to the following people:
Miss Rowe - for organising and setting up the carnival
Mr Apap - for his work getting the oval looking beautiful, line marking and setting up
All the parents who were able to help in the morning during setup
P & F - Who provided sausages, fruit and organised a Coffee Van to attend
ALL the other parents who were able to attend, as always, your presence is always very welcome.
Our Teachers - for ensuring the smooth running of the events.
It truly is a community event, and it was great to get together in well spirited competition.
School Camp / Excursions
Next week our Year 4 students will be attending their school camp at Gumburu, Paluma. I know they can’t wait to get up the mountain and are sure to have a fabulous time.
Prep students will also be going on an excursion to visit the Sacred Heart Cathedral as part of their Religious Education program and have a play at Jezzine Barracks. I’m sure they will also have a wonderful time.
Good Luck
Finally, all the best to our students in Year 3 and 5 next week as they undergo NAPLAN testing. Our thoughts are with you, and only wish for you to do your best!
Have a great week and God bless,
Nick
