Principals Report
It was wonderful to have most of our children back at school this week and most have settled in quickly and easily with the routine of school again. It was particularly lovely seeing different friends see each other for the first time and joy they expressed about having some normality back again.
Please continue to remember that as restrictions are lifting in many areas, we still have restrictions in place at school regarding parents and other adults on our school site as part of the public health guidelines
- An increasing number of parents are using the drop off and pick up zones of a morning and afternoon. This is greatly appreciated. While the morning drop off is spaced out over about 40 mins, the afternoon is done within 25 mins. It looks incredibly busy during this time but with the patience being displayed, it is going as smoothly as it can. Thanks for all your efforts. In fact some of your children complain if you are in the first group of cars as they miss more chat time with their friends :)
- Should children still need to be walked into school, I continue to support this. Children just need to be walked to the hall where we have teachers on duty from 8.00am. We are happy to support them from there. Students do not take their bags to classrooms prior to 8.20am though I do support Prep families in doing this if needed. If you need to come into school to pick up or collect your child, please consider whether the whole family needs to do this. I’m not convinced that we need multiple people from one family and the family dog for a pick up or drop off.
- Please leave the school grounds as soon as your child has separated successfully from you. As always too, please do not gather around classrooms before 8.20am or before 3.00pm. Drop off and Hall pickups are preferred.
- Playgrounds are completely off limits for all adults outside our staff
Fun Run
Next Friday we are going ahead with our Fun Run that was originally scheduled for Term 1. We will stagger the races so each year level groups come out from class when it is their start time. Unfortunately we cannot invite parents to come along this year but we will make sure there are lots of photos to share. Children are welcome to wear house colour shirts with their sports shirts.
I hope everyone is keeping up with the daily happenings around school via our Facebook page. Our native bees arrived this week, we had Uncle Russ turn up to check the progress of our Bush Tucker Trail and we have celebrated Reconciliation Week. Our school is a busy and vibrant space.
Have a fabulous week.
Cheers
