APRE Report

We’re nearing the end of what has been another exciting week at St Benedict’s and the countdown to September holidays I’m sure has begun, with only 2 weeks to go!  We started this week with assembly led by the 4/5/6 Turtles on the theme of Father’s Day. It was a great time to reflect on our father’s and father figures who play such an important role in our lives.  On assembly, we also had some students from 4/5/6 present some important health messages to the whole school. Our class showcases have been a great way for every class to share what they have been learning about throughout the term and I look forward to seeing what each class has to present each week.

Thursday night saw our very first school disco!  It was an extremely well attended event and all of the students appeared to be having a great time.  A massive thank you must be extended to the P & F Committee, who did a wonderful job in organising the event!  Perhaps even more special is that the money raised from the disco will be being donated to ‘Drought Angels’, to support farmers in drought affected areas of Australia.

A reminder for afternoon pick ups, there have been some people parking and picking up their children from the bus zone.  While we understand that this may be quicker and more convenient, it can cause disruptions to traffic in the afternoon. There have been some occasions where rubbish trucks and busses haven’t been able to utilise this zone because of cars, which has caused a back-log behind it.  We kindly ask if you could either park and walk in or use the pick up/drop off area, it would be greatly appreciated!

We also have some wonderful upcoming events at St Benedict’s over the next fortnight, including a Nexus Arts performance by Sean Choolburra next Wednesday for the whole school at 2:00pm, and all students in Year 2 - 6 performing at the Eisteddfod in Week 10.

Have a great week, and God bless,

Nick
