We are very excited to be able to participate in this years’ ANZAC Day march in Thuringowa.  We have been advised by the Townsville City Council that we must comply with the COVID safe event guidelines as supplied by the Queensland Government for commemorations across the state.  As such, schools have been capped at 50 participants.

To work within this cap, we are calling for expressions of interest from our school community for student participation.  

Please note also, theTCC has indicated there will be a place set aside in the Order of March for ‘Descendants of Veterans’– where all family members of veterans are welcome to join in and march immediately behind the veterans groups (ahead of the cadet units, community groups and school groups).

You are invited to express your interest to participate in the march by completing this Google Form (link here).  The form will close on Tuesday 30th March.

All students who will be marching, will be notified in Week 1 of Term 2.  Other details relating to marching  arrangements will be provided following the TCC briefing on April 20.

Please note we will have Poppies and Badges for Anzac Day on sale in Week 1 of Term 2 in the hall each morning before school.
