Welcome back for Term 4. I hope that everyone has enjoyed a break from the routines of school and that some of you have managed to fit in some family fun time too. The children have returned to school with very positive attitudes and clearly enjoyed their break.
This week we have finalised our part in the second stage of The School Improvement and Review process. This process comes towards the end of a five year cycle in all catholic schools. Over the last couple of days our leadership team has presented a broad picture of how our school is tracking to the Verification Team which is a group of people from Townsville Catholic Education who work as a service team to schools but are not our school’s TCE Service Team. This is done deliberately so they come into our school without any preconceived ideas about how we are tracking and therefore rely on the evidence presented. The Verification Team has done classroom visits, had a guided school tour and interviewed teachers, school officers and parents. The final report won’t be ready for about a month but the preliminary summary they gave us before leaving was very positive and they indicated that the report is likely to contain several commendations and that the recommendations will mostly reflect what we have already identified as future goals. This is very affirming as it demonstrates that we are on the right track to becoming the school we aspire to be and that as a community we are quite reflective and knowledgeable about our journey.
We have much to look forward to going into the future but for now we have plenty to do with Term 4 learning and school events. Please keep an eye on our school calendar as there are definitely some things you don’t want to miss.
Have a fabulous week.
Cheers
Penny Collins

Welcome Back
It has been so wonderful to see so many smiling and excited faces of our students as we return for term 4. This term is often such a busy term, with swimming lessons and the carnival, finalising work for reporting, Christmas preparations, transition excitement and anticipation as we prepare for the new year and reflection as we farewell our senior students onto highschool and look at how far our continuing student has come since the start of the year. Term 4 truely is such a wonderful time of the year.

P&F News
This term will continue to offer great opportunities for engagement in our community.
Week 2 will be our P&F meeting to kick off the term - Tuesday 12th Oct @ 7pm. We welcome all to come along and find out more about the exciting ways we are connecting our community.
Week 5 will be the Swimming Carnival with the beloved Sausage Sizzle on offer again. Volunteers on the day to help with turning a snag or serving drinks will be appreciated.
Week 6 we will have another school Disco (Nov 11). After reflecting on previous discos, we have decided not to have glow products for sale, but rather, will have a BBQ on offer. Please feel free to bring along your own glow products on the night.
Week 9 will be a busy week, as we celebrate the Final Mass, Year 6 Rite of Passage, Step-Up Day and O’ Holy Night.
Prep Bilbies today started their HASS unit. They brainstormed all the different celebrations that they celebrate and commemorate with their family and friends. They thoroughly enjoyed participating in the activities set up for the different celebrations especially the birthday party dramatic play and celebration colouring.
Just a reminder when collecting your children, to wait in the hall until 3pm and not outside the classrooms. This has been advised multiple times as it can disrupt the students in the classroom.
