Congratulations to Gumoo House for taking out the Winning trophy for our Swimming Carnival today. Thank you to all our staff and parents who helped out during the day. I think this was our best carnival so far. Our students did themselves so proud today with both their swimming efforts and with their behaviour. It was fabulous to see so many children having a go and cheering each other on throughout the day. For many of our students, the last two weeks have been quite exhausting with the excitement of swimming lessons and going on a bus each day so I’m sure a restful weekend ahead is well called for. Big thanks to Mrs Rowe and Mr Christie for all the planning and organisation for today’s event.
As we near the end of term and end of year it is really important for students to maintain a regular routine so they can regulate their emotions as they ride the rollercoaster of tiredness, preparing for a new year level and all the celebrations that come with our end of year. Please be mindful about how important sleep and regular bedtimes are for children, good nutrition, physical activity and time for mindfulness. We can all aim for a successful and happy end of year if we ensure these things are in place.
Next week we have our school disco to look forward to and this is bound to be another exciting event for our students. Please enjoy a relaxed weekend
Have a fabulous week.
Cheers

It’s the end of Week 5, and we’ve gone past the half-way point of the term. It’s crazy to think that there are only 4 weeks left. There are plenty of things happening between now and the end of the year at St Benedict’s, so I’d encourage you to keep an eye on newsletters and school communications to keep up with what's happening!
Next week we commemorate Remembrance Day. On Friday at our normal assembly time (8:45am), our defence students will be leading us with a special prayer of remembrance. All are welcome to attend this liturgy.
SAVE THE DATE
This year we are having an End of Year Mass, led by Fr Clement. This will be a great celebration of the year that has been at ST Benedict’s, and also a way of farewelling our Year 6 students as they depart for high school. ALL are welcome to attend - with a special invitation extended to the parents/families of our students in Year 6.
Step Up Day is an opportunity for all students attending St Benedict’s in 2022 to meet their new teacher and spend the morning with their class and teacher for next year. It’s always a very exciting morning!
O Holy Night is certainly a favourite on the events calendar. This year it is taking place on Wednesday December 1. The event will be taking place on the low oval, gathering at 6:00pm for a 6:30pm start.

Swimming Carnival
It was wonderful to see our values of Love and Community in all their glory today. Our students had a wonderful day showing off their skills from their lessons over the past 2 weeks. Thank you to all our parents, grandparents and visitors who came to watch and assisted in making the day special for all. Congratulations to Gumoo House on their win and to Dthulla, Yalga and Dulgan for their sportsmanship. A big thanks to our P&F for cooking the sausage sizzle and all the parent helpers who offered their time with setting up, cooking or packing down.
Remembrance Day
Next week on Thursday a group of Year 6 Defence students will represent our school at the Memorial Service in Anzac Park on the strand. The rest of the school will mark the day with the Ode and Last Post to be played. On Friday 12th, our Defence Students will lead us through a Liturgy that reflects on the sacrifice of so many around the world in the search for Peace. All are welcome to attend from 8.45am.
