Thank you to everyone who was able to participate in our swimming carnival today. It was finally lovely to have parents along to a school event. It was our first time using Long Tan Swimming Pool so it was great to see the students participating in multiple events both in and out of the pool. Thanks to Nick Christie and Stevie-Lee Rowe for all your planning and organisation. It was certainly due to all your efforts that the carnival ran so smoothly again. Our Swimming Carnival is such a great opportunity for our athletic students to showcase their ability and talents but also due to the inclusiveness of our carnival, it is great to see those students who are not as confident with swimming, having a go whether it was on their own or with support.
Thank you also to our P&F who were overwhelmed with additional orders for sausage sizzle on the day. We always appreciate your positive approach and service to our community. Your team really adds to our day.
Best wishes for a fabulous week ahead.
Cheers

Welcome to the end of Week 7! And what a busy week it’s been.
Firstly, a huge congratulations to ALL of our students who attended this year's Swimming Carnival. It was a big day of races and other fun events. It was great to see almost every student jumping in the water and having a swim, giving it their best shot. For some of our smaller swimmers especially, it certainly looked like a long way to swim, but they all did an exceptional job, so well done!
With a carnival comes a winner. Congratulations to GUMOO house, who took home the trophy today.
It was also wonderful to have an event that we were able to have parents attend (even if numbers were still a little restricted). Having you there really added to the atmosphere of the carnival!
We are now on the count down to the end of the year, with only 2 weeks (9.5 days) to go! I thought this would be a great opportunity to flag some events that are coming up at the end of the year. Please see the the table below:

We have loved swimming this term! Over the last two weeks, students have participated in swimming lessons each day. We have worked on perfecting our strokes including freestyle, backstroke and butterfly strokes. The instructors have taught the students how to do race starts into the pool as well as pin dives and straddle jumps. It is so wonderful to see so much improvement over the two week period and the students are very excited to try their new skills at the Swimming Carnival.
