Wow we have made it to what has felt like the never ending term. So much change this term has impacted everyone’s energy levels and we are all ready for a well earned break. Please ensure you engage in as many opportunities to connect with each other over the break as you can because the kids’ social network is really important given the disruptions they have had this term. We are however pleased to hear this week that we can recommence assemblies and our morning gatherings next term. There are still restrictions in place for adults who will need to adhere to physical distancing expectations and at this stage we still need to limit the number of parents on school grounds.Thank you for all for supporting our school’s efforts in adhering to expectations related to Covid-19 restrictions this term.
Farewell
This week we say farewell to Mrs Amanda Pease and Mrs Rhylie Mattheisen as they start their maternity leave. We are thoroughly looking forward to welcoming more Bennies Babes to our community. Mr Daniels may have his baby arrive anytime from today so he will also be off for a couple of weeks into next term to enjoy this special time with his family. We wish all our expectant parents the best with the new additions to their families. We certainly appreciate what a blessing a new baby is and know how much each one is already loved.
Holidays can be a good time to have a check in with school uniforms etc. so please check all uniforms are fully labelled and that uniforms are in good condition. We are seeing lots of shoes with white soles which are not part of our uniform and this needs to be rectified before next term.
Please have a safe, restful and happy break from school.
Cheers
Penny Collins
Principal
APRE NEWS
We’ve made it to the end of the term. I’d like to extend a big “well done” to all of our students, teachers and families on getting to the end of what has certainly been a very trying term. I wish everyone a very restful break and can’t wait to see everyone back beginning next term.
Benny’s Got Talent Auditions
I’ve been lucky enough this week to get to hold auditions for students interested in taking part in our ‘Benny’s Got Talent” event. I enjoyed seeing lots of different skills and commend ALL students who auditioned on their courage in putting their name forward and presenting a skill to other people. Unfortunately we don’t have the time during the event to see everyone and some people have missed out. I look forward to seeing our successful auditionees during the event and encourage all those students who didn’t make it to put their name forward next year. At this stage we aren’t able to host other adults for the event, but would like to remind everyone that we plan on live-streaming to our community.
St Benedict’s Feast Day
Please see a repeat of some items we’d love you to bring in to make our Feast Day celebrations even more exciting for our students!
Contemplative Corner
Contemplative Art Outside
Find a place outside where you can look at something natural, a tree, river, garden, anything. Find a place by yourself and heighten your senses (what do you see, feel, smell, touch and hear). Focus on a particular thing to look at (a flower, a leaf, a tree, etc) or listen to and focus on that for the time you have set out. You might choose to return to the same place more than once, or find different places to become fully aware of your surroundings.
